From Passive Watching to Active Naming

Passive watching asks nothing of the child. Active naming asks one thing: say it with me. That single demand transforms screen time from consumption into practice.

The 3-step turn

• Pause: after the teacher says ball, pause and look at your child.
• Point: point at the picture together — finger on the ball.
• Say: say it slowly, wait 3 seconds for their attempt, celebrate any sound.

Why it works

• Every word becomes a back-and-forth, not a broadcast.
• The child learns screens can ask them to do, not just watch.
• You get instant feedback on which words are landing.
